1 teen dead, 2 others hurt after shooting in south Phoenix
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A shooting on Thursday night left one teenager dead and two others wounded in south Phoenix.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting the area of 37th Street and La Salle Street around 7:45 p.m. When officers arrived, they found two teen boys with gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to a hospital, where one later died. Police say the other teen’s injuries were not life-threatening.
As officers were investigating, they learned that another teenage boy was dropped off at the same hospital with a gunshot wound. His injuries were also not serious, according to police.
Police initially said the shooting victims were linked to an incident that occurred in the area of 31st Street and Atlanta Street, about a mile away from where officers responded.
Homicide detectives are investigating, but no further details have been released. It’s not clear if police have identified any potential suspects.
