Man dies after falling into Sedona cave

SEDONA, AZ (AZFamily) — A climber died in a tragic fall Saturday at a cave in Sedona, according to officials with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials responded to reports that a climber fell inside Keyhole Cave around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Deputies found a man in his 50s who had fallen while trying to rappel down to the cave floor. Another climber attempted life-saving measures but the man died from his injuries, officials said.

Foul play is not suspected, officials said, but the fall is under investigation.
