GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A motorcyclist has died after being hit by a vehicle Sunday afternoon near the Luke Air Force Base in the West Valley.

Glendale Police responded to the crash involving the motorcycle and a Toyota Camry just before 5 p.m. near Glendale Avenue and Dysart Road.

An investigation found that the motorcycle was driving southbound on Dysart, while the Camry was going northbound on Dysart and preparing to turn left onto Glendale. Police said the Camry did not yield to the motorcycle, causing the crash.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as 68-year-old Victor Paul Palmer of Glendale.

The driver of the Camry stayed at the scene, police said, and he has been cooperative with the investigation. Speed and impairment are not believed to be factors.

Officers closed the intersection of Glendale and Dysart until about midnight for the investigation.
