Driver had BAC double the legal limit in deadly motorcycle crash, Phoenix police say
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is facing a manslaughter charge after police said he was drunk when he caused a crash that killed a motorcyclist on Sunday afternoon.
According to court paperwork, 32-year-old Eladio Santiago Hernandez was turning left out of his apartment complex on 27th Avenue, north of Glendale Avene, just before 4:30 p.m., when a motorcyclist crashed into the left side of his Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The unidentified victim died at the scene.
Police officers said Hernandez had a blood alcohol level of 0.199, more than double the legal limit.
Court records said he told officers he saw the motorcycle coming but thought it was far away enough for him to turn. He added that he thought the motorcyclist was speeding.
Hernandez was booked into jail, and his bond was set at $250,000.
Police said he is a flight risk because he has family in Mexico and doesn’t have a United States ID.
