Shemer Art Center, Furry Friends Fine Arts Festival
Want to make your pets happy or find out what they are thinking? Then bring them to the Furry Friends Fine Arts Festival at the Shemer Art Center Saturday, September 15 between 8 a.m. 2 p.m. There will be business vendors with free treats, paw readings, pet adoptions, kid's art activities, a raffle, two indoor art exhibitions, and 11 artists from Phoenix, Scottsdale, Queen Creek, Tucson and Flagstaff showcasing their animal works of art for sale! Bring your furry friend and come out for a day of "dog-gone fun! Event includes animal artists and vendors, pet adoptions, paw readings, kid's animal art activities, two animal art exhibitions inside, a raffle, live music, and food & beverages provided by Black Cat Coffee, Short Leash Hot Dogs and Leo's Ice Cream (with doggie cookies and Frosty Paws). This event offers a fun day out for the entire family, and it supports a great cause, the non-profit Shemer Art Center and its visual art offerings for residents of all ages!This event is one of four fundraisers held at the non-profit Shemer Art Center every year, this one designed specifically to introduce area residents not only to the resources offered at the visual arts center but also to all the animal-related businesses in the neighborhood. And, like all activities held on-site, it furthers the Shemer's mission to showcase and support Arizona artists. Admission is $5 per person, $10 per family, and furry friends are free.

Sassy' Wins Show: Bake It Like Buddy
Valley baking duo win big with their impressive creation on the "Bake it Like Buddy" show and cake competition. Melody and Geoff Larsen of Sassy's Cafe & Bakery were featured over the weekend on the new family baking competition on the Discovery Family Channel. The new series, "Bake it Like Buddy" stars "Cake Boss" Buddy Valastro and America's best baking families from across the country.
The series premieres on Saturday, September 8 and consists of 25 episodes that are 30 minutes each. Your episode will air on: Saturday, September 8 at 9:30 PM local time.
If you miss the airing on television, all episodes of the series will stream live on the Discovery Family GO app and will also be available on demand the following day.
Each week on BAKE IT LIKE BUDDY, two extremely talented, passionate and creative baking family duos face-off against each other in a fun head-to-head bake off at Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey.
