Tempe police seek more victims after arrest in kidnapping, sex assault case
TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — A suspect has been arrested in connection with the kidnapping and sexual assault of a woman on Halloween morning in Tempe, and police believe there could be additional victims.
Mach Kim was booked into the Maricopa County jail Thursday on several felony charges.

Around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, Kim allegedly approached a woman and forced her into his vehicle at gunpoint in the area of 8th Street and Dorsey Lane, just south of University Drive in Tempe. Police say Kim then drove the woman to another location and sexually assaulted her before dropping her off near McClintock and University drives.
Detectives reviewed cameras with the help of the city’s Real Time Operations Center (RTOC) and linked a newer-model Ram pickup truck to the crime. Through that lead, police identified Kim as a suspect.
He was arrested on charges of aggravated assault, kidnapping, sexual assault and sexual abuse.
Officers later searched Kim’s home and car and reportedly recovered other evidence tied to the investigation.
Detectives believe there could be other victims who have not yet come forward. Potential victims or others with information are asked to call Tempe police at 480-350-8311.
