Kitten at Arizona Humane Society looking for Foster Hero after being thrown from car
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A young kitten is looking for a Foster Hero after being reportedly thrown from a vehicle and receiving help from the Arizona Humane Society.
Earlier this week, the Arizona Humane Society Field Dispatchers received reports of a 5-week-old kitten named Sponge who was thrown out of a vehicle and saved by a Good Samaritan.
An Arizona Humane Society Emergency Animal Medical Technician quickly took the kitten to the shelter’s trauma hospital, where veterinarians assessed her.
AHS says Sponge had no physical injuries but has an upper respiratory infection and is still shaken up. Sponge has been cleared to go into a Foster Hero Home where she can receive love and medical care in a quiet environment.

Last year, AHS cared for nearly 2,900 kittens like Sponge in their Bottle Baby ICU and Doris Norton Kitten Nursery. These baby kittens require 24/7 support, and kennel capacity can fill up quickly.
Fostering a pet opens up kennel space for AHS to care for more sick, injured and abused pets.
