Realtor offers luxury Paradise Valley home to California fire victims
PARADISE VALLEY, AZ (AZFamily) — The wildfires in California have been devastating, destroying thousands of structures and killing at least 24 people.
With the fire still not completely under control, many residents are not being allowed to return to check on the condition of their homes. A Valley realtor is looking to help them out.
Andrew Bloom was born and raised in Los Angeles but has lived in Arizona for 40 years. He said his heart is breaking for his hometown.
“They’ve lost everything, but they also don’t have insurance, and so how do they rebuild?” he said.
Several major insurance carriers in recent years withdrew fire coverage in California or even blocked policy renewals because they were losing too much money to previous disasters.
Bloom owns several homes in the Paradise Valley area, including a newly purchased $3 million listing. He wants to donate that home for a family or person who lost their home in the wildfires to use for the next few months or until they can rebuild.
He wants other realtors or landlords to join him.
“My hope is that there’s other people out there that have homes, empty homes, second homes, third homes, vacation properties that they’re not using, and they don’t need to rent it, and they can donate these homes to other individuals and families that don’t have insurance,” he said. “I’m specifically speaking to the people in California that lost everything, and they don’t have insurance. Those people have experienced a double tragedy, and it’s so sad, and it breaks my heart.”
Anyone looking to get in touch with Bloom can contact him at 602-989-1287.
