Los Angeles (AZFamily) — Frustration is mounting among evacuees who can’t check on the status of their homes threatened by the Eaton and Palisades fires, which have been burning in Los Angeles since last week.

Officials have warned that the ash in the debris may contain harmful substances such as lead, arsenic, and asbestos.

Currently, about 150,000 people in Los Angeles County remain under evacuation orders. More than 700 residents are taking refuge in nine shelters, according to county officials.

Most evacuation orders in the Palisades area are unlikely to be lifted before the red flag warnings expire on Wednesday evening.

On Monday, L.A. County officials released two new maps showing the latest confirmed statuses of homes and businesses within the fire’s path.

Although the maps are not comprehensive, county personnel indicated that they will be updated 24/7 as new information becomes available.
