PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A call for someone trespassing led to the arrest in a 2014 murder case, Phoenix police said on Thursday.

According to officers, 25-year-old Iram Quintana was at an abandoned home in the area of 29th Avenue and Cactus Road on Tuesday morning around 8, and police noticed he was acting suspiciously.

Police said when they ran his name through their system, they found out he was wanted in a homicide from about nine years ago.

Investigators said Quintana shot and killed 19-year-old Pedro Antunez-Andrade on Sept. 23, 2014, and then fled to Mexico.

The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest, and the U.S. Marshals Service tried to find him but without success.

Until Phoenix police spotted him on Tuesday.

Quintana was taken into custody and booked into jail for second-degree murder.
