MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — This guitar isn’t going out of style. It’s on a mission.

A Taylor Swift-signed “Eras Tour” guitar has been auctioned off not once, but twice for Shade Tree Academy in Mesa. Now it’s headed for its third encore.

Both times, the winner did something rare. They gave it back.

Shade Tree Academy provides a safe, nurturing and therapeutic educational environment for East Valley children in foster care. Each donation of the guitar has helped it continue that mission.

“This guitar has already changed lives twice, and both times the winners chose to give it back so it could help even more children,” said Susan Mulhearn, co-founder of Shade Tree Academy. “That generosity is exactly what Shade Tree Academy is built on, which is people showing up for kids who need someone in their corner. We can’t wait to see what its next era brings.”
