2 female-owned businesses hosting Phoenix Mercury watch parties ahead of Game 2
PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Two female-owned Valley businesses are inviting fans to cheer on the Mighty Mercury as they look to even the series against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday.
Fans can head to Greenwood Brewing and Title 9 Sports Grill on Sunday before the game tips off at 12 p.m. The Mercury are looking to even the series after a heartbreaking Game 1 loss to the Aces.
Greenwood Brewing, located along Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix, will be hosting watch parties for every Finals game. A projector screen will be set up for fans to cheer on the squad, all while enjoying a pint of HERSTORY India Pale Ale, the official craft beer of the Mercury.
“We’ve had such a great partnership with them [Mercury] for the past two years. We’re so excited to see them win, to see them thrive,” said owner Megan Greenwood."
Title 9’s name was inspired by Title IX legislation, and owners Audrey Corley and Kat Moore say it’s the first-ever women-focused sports bar in Phoenix. Since the sports grill’s opening earlier this year, they have invited the community to cheer on their favorite female sports teams, all while creating an inclusive space to celebrate female athletes.
If fans want to head to Title 9 early on Sunday, they can watch the Washington Spirit take the pitch against San Diego Wave FC at 10 a.m.
Title 9 Sports Grill is located at 4221 N. 7th Avenue, and Greenwood Brewing is located at 922 N 5th Street.
