(Meredith) -- A woman was fatally stabbed in Baltimore Saturday morning after stopping to donate money, police say.

According to the Baltimore Sun, Jacquelyn Smith and her faimly were driving through Johnston Square neighborhood when a young woman appeared what seemed to be a baby.

The woman was holding a cardboard sign that read, "Please Help me feed my Baby."

Smith was sitting in the front passenger seat when she rolled down the window and reached out to give the woman some money, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Before Smith could give the woman the money, a man appeared and reached into the car to grab Smith's wallet.

Police say a struggle ensued, the man pulled out a knife and stabbed Smith in the chest.

The man and woman immediately ran off, police said. Smith was taken to a hospital, where she later died.

Now maybe people will get smart and roll UP their windows when approaching a panhandler.

Most homeless people are not panhandlers, thieves, or stabbers.

Most homeless people are never seen.

Odds are that the people who pester you are not even homeless.

I miss the days when we could call them bums or at least transients... I hear the new PC term for the bums is "structurally disadvantaged."
