Warm weather for the next few days is the story. As we head into the weekend, we’re forecast highs in the low-70s. No rain is in the forecast thru next week. However, a strong storm system will drop into Arizona this weekend and begin to cool the Valley off and possibly bring some rain and snow to northern and eastern Arizona. We don’t expect major accumulations, but northern AZ is going to get some pretty cold air. It is possible we’ll see a couple of inches of snow in northern Arizona beginning Saturday night thru Sunday night.

The jet stream that’s collapsing into the southwest will also stretch across the southern states to the southeast. We expect unseasonally cool temperatures throughout most of the contiguous states next week. Eventually, the jet stream will begin to recover next week and temperatures will warm up a little bit.

We’re still way behind on our rainfall to the tune of 2 inches. And it’s highly unlikely we’ll make up that deficit before the start of the New Year.
