PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) – Wednesday's storm brought quite a bit of lightning with it. That lightning not only sparked a small house fire in west Phoenix, but it also struck an above-ground gas line in the area of 35th Avenue and Durango.

Lightning sparks house fire in Phoenix

Southwest Gas and the Phoenix Fire Department confirmed that lighting hit the 3-inch line and caused a fire not far from the Lower Buckeye Jail. The area is blocked off. Gibby Parra was in the area and said the smell of gas was strong. No injuries were reported.
