|Officer Bullis was shot in the line of duty in March. She was responding to a hit-and-run call in South Phoenix when a gunman opened fire on her patrol car in an ambush attack. The injuries were not life-threatening, and Officer Bullis was back on patrol three months later.

|The shooting happened near Pinal Avenue and O’Neil Drive around 1:30 a.m. on Sunday. Seventeen-year-old Hailey Stephens was shot in the head and later died at the hospital. Another 17-year-old girl was shot in the arm and is expected to survive. Stephens was a student and cheerleader at Case Grande Union High School.

|Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb says the shooting took place after an argument between two teens, which lasted several minutes, and one of them took out a gun and shot the 17-year-old in the neck. The suspect then left the scene in a blue charger. Deputies then went around searching through surveillance video and ring cameras and reviewed video from an Amazon truck. They started narrowing down locations, found the suspect, and took them into custody within less than three hours.
