SURPRISE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- A wrong-way driver was arrested early Sunday morning near the Loop 303 and Waddell.
The Department of Public Safety says it happened just before midnight when they were notified that a wrong way vehicle was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the Loop 303.
Troopers found the wrong-way vehicle and were able to stop it in the freeway. Arizona Department of Transportation on Twitter says that the Loop 303 was closed in both directions. All lanes have since been reopened.
The driver was not listening to officer commands, according to DPS, and they say an outside agency used their K9. They were able to take the suspect into custody just before 12:20 a.m. The name of the suspect has not yet been released and the investigation is ongoing.
