PHOENIX and TEMPE (3TV/CBS 5) -- Tens of thousands of runners will be all over the Phoenix area for the Rock 'n' Roll marathon. And that means lots of road closures and restrictions around town.
The road shut down for the whole weekend is Rio Salado Parkway, from Mill Avenue to Ash Avenue, for all the races.
Sunday's half marathon started and will finish in Tempe. The full marathon started in downtown Phoenix, winding through uptown, the Biltmore, Arcadia, and Scottsdale, and finishing up at Tempe Beach Park. Road closures are expected until around 3:30 p.m.
As for the Valley Metro light rail, organizers say there might be some delays, and service will be suspended at Seventh Avenue and Camelback Road on Sunday morning.
As a reminder, many roads will be restricted and/or closed throughout Tempe, Scottsdale and Phoenix. Please refer to the link for detailed information. Have a safe Sunday!https://t.co/qYN5R39756— Tempe Police (@TempePolice) January 19, 2020
