Motorcycle rider killed after crashing into bus, police say

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - Phoenix police say a man was  killed after his motorcycle crashed into a city bus. It happened Sunday evening near Metrocenter, on the west side of the mall.

Police say just before 8:30 p.m., a man driving a motorcycle collided with the bus. The motorcycle driver was critically injured and pronounced dead at the scene, according to Phoenix police Sgt. Andy Williams.

There were no passengers on the bus, and the bus driver was not hurt.

The intersection of Cheryl Drive and North Metro Parkway West was restricted for the investigation, but has since reopened.
