4 people injured in serious crash on the Loop 202 South Mountain

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- At least four people have been injured in a serious crash on the Loop 202 South Mountain near 17th Avenue Saturday morning.

The crash happened shortly after 6 a.m. Phoenix Fire Capt.Todd Keller said when crews arrived on the scene, they found a three-vehicle crash. One person needed to be removed from their car with the assistance of the firefighters. A 25-year-old man is in extremely critical condition and a 16-year-old boy is in critical condition. The other two men, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old, are in stable condition.

Arizona Department of Public Safety will be taking over the investigation. The freeway reopened shortly after 7 a.m. It was shut down again for the investigation around 7:40 a.m. ADOT finally reopened the freeway around 9:50 a.m.
