Tempe police and the Attorney General’s Office have shut down a human sex trafficking ring.
The 10-month human sex trafficking investigation focused on the massage parlor, “Amazing Spa” in Tempe, located at 6481 S. Rural Road.
During this joint investigation, it was learned the owners of this business were using young Asian females, predominately from Korea and China, to work an average of 15 hours a day, 7 days a week to conduct sex acts for money benefiting the operators of the business.
These young females were rotated out on a frequent basis where new girls would come in and the old girls would leave to another location. The female victims in this operation were made to work seeing multiple male customers each day.
The money earned in these sex acts was turned over to Angela Chan and Kyoung Song who ran this criminal organization, according to police.
The business was advertised on the internet where men from all parts of the Valley would come and spend money on sex acts with the victims. Many of these men have been identified during the course of this investigation and more will continue to be identified as the investigation continues.
Tempe police say "this was a high customer volume business where a lot of cash was changing hands. The female victims in this operation were exploited and had only one use to the owners of this operation, to work as prostitutes to make money."Tempe Police & Attorney General's Office Shut down a Human Sex Trafficking Ring in Tempe pic.twitter.com/dph4DNYsy8— Tempe Police (@TempePolice) May 19, 2016Copyright 2016 KPHO/KTVK (KPHO Broadcasting Corporation).
