PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- The Phoenix Suns specialty license plate has a new design and fresh look, which the Arizona Department of Transportation hopes is a slam dunk for fans.
The Suns plate costs $25, with $17 of that amount going to Phoenix Suns Charities, helping children in need across Arizona. Last year, all of the state's specialty plates raised near $11 million for charitable causes. The Phoenix Suns license plate can be ordered at azmvdnow.gov, which is the state's primary online self-service website.
AHS says $17 from every plate goes directly to benefit the foundation.
The former Suns plate with the old design is still okay for use on vehicles, but isn't available to be bought anymore, ADOT said. Drivers with the old specialty plate design can get the new redesigned plate for a $5 fee, plus postage and handling.
