PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) – The Arizona Diamondbacks announced that the game time for Saturday, July 17, has been changed to 1:10 p.m. to accommodate a possible Game 5 of the NBA Finals in downtown Phoenix.

The game was originally slated for 5:10 p.m. but has now been moved back four hours. Diamondbacks officials stated that the game was changed “to ensure the best possible fan experience.” The two sports overlapped on July 6 as well, when fans flocked to Phoenix Suns Arena for Game 1 of the NBA Finals, and next door the Diamondbacks were facing off against the Colorado Rockies.

The NBA Finals Game 1 saw over 16,000 fans pack the arena to cheer on the Suns against the Bucks, and around the corner nearly 7,000 fans were watching the Diamondbacks. Both teams got the win, with the Suns defeating the Bucks 118-105 and the Diamondbacks walked it off against the Rockies, 4-3. The Diamondbacks will face off against the Cubs on July 17th at 1:10 p.m. and the potential NBA Finals Game 5 will tip off at 6:00 p.m.
