“Good Morning Arizona” is a greeting Olivia Fierro has shared thousands of times in the kitchens and living rooms of Arizonans off and on since 2003, when she joined 3TV after two years as an Anchor/Reporter in the Texas panhandle. In her first years here, she did it all: Flagstaff Bureau Reporter, Good Evening Arizona Reporter, Anchor for GMAZ Weekends, Good Day Arizona, and the early hours of GMAZ. In between, there were always opportunities to explore the Grand Canyon State as part of a station field trip, perfect her snow angel technique in the high country, or allow her bosses to discover they should never allow her to fill in on weather!

All that variety couldn’t change the alarm clock, so she headed to our sister station, Fox5 in Las Vegas to see what staying up past midnight felt like. It felt great! A successful six years included many highlights, from Rocky Mountain Emmy nominations to multiple wins as one-half of the Silver State Awards Best Anchor Team. She also served the community, joining the Board of Directors for Dress for Success Southern Nevada and earned a community service “heavyweight belt” from the UFC.
Before launching her career in front of the camera, Fierro worked her way up from intern to writer and field producer at FOX11 in Los Angeles. She started her full-time position there shortly after graduating from UCLA, earning dual majors in history and women's studies, and then studying broadcast journalism through UCLA's Extension Program.
As part of the Good Morning Arizona team, Olivia is on the air weekday mornings from 6-10 a.m., making sure Arizonans have the information they need to make the most of their day and feel a sense of community, alongside the best broadcasters in town. The GMAZ team has earned multiple local Emmy nominations, been designated Favorite Morning News Team in multiple magazines, and individually she’s been profiled in a number of local publications.
Olivia is dedicated to using her platform for community service, lending her voice, time and energy to meaningful causes, including Valley of the Sun United Way, Chicanos por la Causa, and March of Dimes. Olivia took on the responsibility of Co-Chair for the 2020 March for Babies, assembling an incredible Executive Leadership Team and greatly expanding the organization’s reach in support of healthy moms and babies.
In 2019 she launched Olivia’s Book Club, building up a community of Arizonans who share a common love for reading and discussion. Through her book club’s partnership with Changing Hands Bookstore, Olivia’s had the opportunity to moderate in-person and virtual events with authors including John Grisham, Neil Patrick Harris, Tan France, Phil Donahue and Marlo Thomas.
In 2020, Olivia was a Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce ATHENA Award Nominee (for professional excellence, mentorship and community service), and named one of the #Great48 Arizonans by PHOENIX Magazine.
Olivia is mom to Nate, wife to Tony, friend to many, and a fan of yoga, travel, books, iced coffee and mimosas (morning shift essentials—okay just the coffee.)
