Coming from network and national television, meteorologist Lauren Rainson now joins the team of meteorologists that comprise Arizona's Weather Authority.

Lauren was born and raised in Central Illinois. She graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a degree in broadcast meteorology. Lauren later went on to complete her master's degree online through Mississippi State University. In 2018, she received her National Weather Association Television Seal of Approval.

Lauren started her broadcast meteorology career at WAND in Decatur, Illinois. She later served the Peoria-Bloomington market as the morning meteorologist at WMBD and WYZZ. Following local television, Lauren left Central Illinois for a network -- AccuWeather -- forecasts were seen nationwide. You might have also seen her forecasts on FOX News, ABC World News Now, and Yahoo Finance.

In early 2020, Lauren followed her husband to the Valley of the Sun for his job, and is super excited to join the incredible team of meteorologists at Arizona's Family. You can catch Lauren's forecasts on the weekend evening and night newscasts on 3TV and CBS 5.

Lauren Rainson is joining Arizona's Family Weather Authority. Nobody is leaving the team. Lauren is taking over weekend weather duties while Kim Powell goes back to reporting full-time.
