Summer is probably THE most important time to remember to offer help to those in need in our community. It's so true that the more you give, the better you feel!

If you're looking for a great place to volunteer this summer, think about Saint Vincent De Paul. They offer opportunities in their kitchen crew (they provide 3500 meals a day), in their urban farm, in their Dream City kids program, and many more. They can use your help and I promise you you'll feel better after you volunteer than you did before.

Summer is a time when many valley families experience food insecurity because of higher A/C bills and many other reasons. St. Mary's Food Bank is always looking for volunteers. Head to to find out how to get involved with this very important mission.

If you're cleaning out your home and/or closet, think about donating to Big Brothers Big Sisters. Donated items are sold at Savers stores and make a big difference to kids around the valley. Your unwanted item could very well be someone else's treasure! Best of all, it helps our community!

Back to school drives will be here before we know it, and if you'd like to donate backpacks to kids in need, check out Dollar Dayz. They offer great backpacks in cases of 24 for under $4/each. They also have deals on school supplies, homeless outreach products, and other in-need items for a fraction of what you'd pay at the big box stores. If you want to make a difference to a lot of people, this is a great place to look.

Enjoy and let's all volunteer this summer!
