Celebrity Chef Adam Gertler from Dog Haus shares a recipe for a burger that is full of flavor for a great summer night.

INGREDIENTS

• 8 ounces of hardwood smoked bacon

• 1/4 cup of Cholula Hot Sauce

• 4 1/2 ounces of brown Sugar

• 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

• 2 tablespoons of oil

• 2 cups of diced Onions

• 3 tablespoons of brown Sugar

• 3 tablespoons of Cholula Hot Sauce

• 1 1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt

• 1 1/2 ounces of Cholula Hot Sauce

• 4 1/2 ounces of mayonnaise

• Whisk to combine ingredients

• Place in a squeeze bottle

• 5 tablespoons of melted butter

• 6 eggs, fried to desired doneness(optional)

• 12 slices, American cheese

• 24 ounces of burger meat or 1-pound of ground meat

• 2 tablespoons of kosher Salt

• 1 tablespoon of Coarsely ground black pepper

• 6 - 6” wax paper or parchment paper squares

• 24 - King’s Hawaiian Dinner Rolls, each section of 4 rolls cut in half horizontally is one burger bun.

INSTRUCTIONS

In a bowl, mix the Cholula, Brown Sugar and Black Pepper until it is a smooth glaze.

Place bacon strips on a tray, with a rack inside the tray if possible.

Brush the glaze on the top side of the bacon strips until fully covered.

Place the tray in the oven at 375 degrees and cook for 12 - 14 minutes.

Bacon is fully cooked and reaches a dark golden-brown color.

In a large pot, heat oil on moderately high heat.

Add the onions and cook until golden brown, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes.

Add the brown sugar evenly spread across the top of the onions.

Do not stir, let it melt for about 5 minutes.

After the sugar has melted, stir the onions and brown sugar and let it caramelize for another 5 minutes.

Lower the heat and add the Cholula.

Stir occasionally until the onion jam becomes thick.

Add the salt and stir until completely mixed.

Brush butter on inside of top and bottom buns.

Over medium high heat, toast buns until golden brown on both sides.

Zigzag 5 points of Cholula Mayo on both top and bottom buns.

Place on Serving Platter.

Over medium high heat smash burger onto cast iron surface using, wax paper and the back of small frying pan.

Alternatively, place burger patties on grill over medium high heat.

Season burgers with salt and pepper.

Cook for 1 1/2 minutes and flip burger. Top with cheese.

Place the burger patty with white American cheese on the bottom bun.

Place 2 slices (4 halves) of Cholula Brown Sugar Bacon on top of the American cheese.

Add 1 1/2 ounces of Cholula Onion Jam on top of the bacon.

Place a fried egg on top.

Add black pepper.

Gently place top bun on the egg.
