12 years ago I purchased my first fake tree and boy was I excited because it was the most 'real' looking tree I had ever seen. Flash forward to today, and it's so fake looking! However, when faced with the decision of making it work verses going out and spending a few hundred dollars on a new one... I decided to work on fixing it up instead and the end result is beautiful. So many fake trees are thin inside which leaves large holes that make it look unattractive. Here are some of my favorite tips to make your fake tree look... As real as the day you first bought it!
1. Buy a used fake tree from a thrift store and cut it up... Then stick those pieces into your tree to help fill in all the bare spots.
2. Buy Decorative Stems! Around the holidays, you can purchase snow tipped pine, or glitter branches... When inserted into the tree, this makes a huge impact on the color and fullness of the tree. Before Christmas these can be a little expensive... But after Christmas you can purchase them for 70-90% off at retailers like Target or Wal-Mart.
3. Wrap the center of the tree with ribbon! This will help hide the center metal pole and will make the tree look fuller.
These tips are pretty simple but when paired with your traditional ornaments and tree decor, they can take the tree from basic to beautiful!
