PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- The bookworm in your life is just waiting for you to make a thoughtful choice. If you don’t know what to buy, ask an expert. The team at Changing Hands Bookstores devour books, it is passion and profession. So Olivia Fierro went to the Phoenix location for a few recommendations.

Gift for a music fan? The posthumously published memoir, “Prince, The Beautiful Ones”, a memoir he worked on before his death is highly recommended by book buyer Michelle Malonzo, for its insight into his process, and the never-before-seen photos and notes.

Cookbooks make great gifts, for the novice or the pro. Van-Lam Tran is a foodie who works in the First Draft Book Bar. She recommends a classic add that you’ll keep a lifetime, “Joy of Cooking” because they just released a revised edition and they only revise it every 20 years.

Fiction and horror fans will respond to a gift recommended by Changing Hands Assistant Manager, Jason Foose. He describes “Imaginary Friend” by Stephen Chobsky, author of “Perks of Being a Wallflower” as a “sweet book with all the juicy scares that horror fans are looking for.”

The Changing Hands Bookstore children’s section is full of great gifts, toys, and books. Book buyer Brandi Stewart recommends “The Year We Fell From Space” by Amy Sarig King for the middle school reader. The protagonist is Liberty, who is struggling to find her way through as her parents divorce, so she “looks to the starts to try to sort out her emotions,” says Stewart.

The staff is ready to recommend for whoever is left on your list. Changing Hands Bookstores has two locations, Phoenix and Tempe.
