SCOTTSDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- Tender Little Hearts Mini Tales and Equine Mini Therapy are Terry Holmes-Stecyk’s passion projects come to life. Through her volunteer work with miniature horse rescues, she saw the joy and laughter mini horses and donkeys bring to people’s faces. Terry wanted to take her small horses and donkey to the people--to provide, not only therapy experiences, but also inspire young people to read.
Terry successfully organized Tender Little Hearts Mini Tales reading program for children. This nonprofit organization is managed 100% by a dedicated group of volunteers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Terry created virtual experiences to keep the Mini Tales reading program alive.
Tender Little Hearts Equine Mini Therapy Services is a 501(c) 3 organization and is managed 100% by a dedicated group of volunteers. These services include the use of qualified miniature therapy horses and a donkey for therapy. The simple act of petting animals releases an automatic relations response, lowers anxiety, reduces loneliness, increases mental stimulation, provides a happy distraction, even acting as a catalyst to reduce resistance in the therapy process. Tender Little Hearts is driven by a single goal — to do their part in making the world a better place.
