PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) -- Ahead of the holiday rush, Fry's Food Stores is looking to 2,300 workers across Arizona.

"We have over 20,000 associates statewide. Have we ever been looking for 2,300 associates in October in the past? No, this is definitely a new precedent for us," Pam Giannonatti with Fry's Food Stores said.

Fry's is looking to fill a variety of positions, including front-end managers and clerks and people working in the pharmacy, deli, and floral departments.

"It's a challenge, we pride ourselves on great customer service, and we have amazing jobs available from full-time to part-time to management, hourly, just a wide selection throughout all of our stores statewide," Giannonatti said.

Fry's stores across the state are hosting hiring events on Wednesday, October 13, from 12 p.m to 3 p.m. If you're interested, you can stop by any of the 124 Fry's stores across the state to learn more. A virtual job fair is also taking place during the same time frame. So, what happens if Fry's isn't able to fill all the available positions in time for the holiday rush?

"It will not be noticed. We will do our best to meet the needs of our customers, be it in our stores or online," Giannonatti said.
