PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - Black Friday started off early -- again -- around the country. At Kohl’s in Desert Ridge Marketplace in Phoenix, the store is in the middle of 31 straight hours of operation. Everything started seven hours before it was actually Friday.

“We knew what we wanted. We got the pan set, she got some quesadilla makers, I got a little gift for my friend,” one shopper said.

People waited outside for at least an hour before the doors opened at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

“The customers waiting outside that were here first, they were able to get a tickets that reserved one of the hot electronic items for this year,” said store manager Corrine Cook.

With that ticket, they paid for their electronics first and then picked up the items on the way out.

“This is the ultimate in gaming. Ya know, 4k now, ultra-high definition Blu-rays you can watch,” a man named Andre touted about his latest Xbox.

“I’m big. If you’re in my way -- well, I would get out of my way,” another shopper joked with us.

Some shoppers we spoke to spent $200-$500!

The shopping will continue on actual Black Friday. Kohl’s, for example, will be open the entire 24 hours.
