TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- Two people were taken to the hospital after a wrong-way crash in Tempe early Saturday morning.
Tempe police say officers responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Priest Drive and the Loop 202 westbound on-ramp around 2:30 a.m. Investigators believe that a black Toyota Tundra was driving the wrong-way on Priest Drive when it crossed a red light to enter the freeway. As it was crossing, the truck hit two other vehicles.
The driver and passenger in the truck were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police say the drivers of the other vehicles had minor injuries but refused treatment.
Police believe alcohol may be a factor in the crash. No other details have been released. The investigation is ongoing.
