Police say the pickup was going south on Rural Road when the driver lost control and veered into the northbound lanes and then into the bus stop.

The victim, now identified as 59-year-old Alice Myskowski, was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Detectives have not determined if speed or impairment were factors in the crash and it's not clear what caused the driver to lose control of the pickup.

"She had been reading her Bible and looked up and she had to have seen the bright lights, being at night she had to have seen these bright lights coming at her at a fast speed, not been able to get up," said Krista Schmitt, Myskowski's roommate. "Her sister said the coroner told her there was no way she could have survived that accident."

Schmitt says Myskowski had lived with her for the last four years, but they've known each other through church for 14 years. "She had one of the strongest faiths of anybody I have ever personally known," Schmitt said. "She was really one of the most loving and funny and devoted Christians I have ever known."

Myskowski walked to the bus stop every morning to go to work and, over the last several years, got to know many neighbors on those daily walks. Her neighbors have placed a memorial for her at the bus stop.

Rural Road was shut down between Carver and Warner roads for several hours while investigators worked to investigate the scene. The investigation remains ongoing.
