Fast food lovers, rejoice!
Ohio-based restaurant chain White Castle announced Friday its plans to open its first Arizona restaurant in 2019.
The planned location will be near the area of Via de Ventura and the Loop 101 in Scottsdale. The restaurant will be located at a new mixed-use development called "The Block at Pima Center."
According to White Castle, the new Scottsdale location is expected to bring 50 to 75 new jobs to the area.
This will also be the first family-owned White Castle west of the Mississippi River.
“We are thrilled to add this iconic brand to our lineup at The Block,” said Daniel Lupien, managing partner of Palmer Development Group.
“The fact that White Castle chose our site for their first corporate expansion west of St. Louis is a real testament to the dynamics of the area and specifically The Block at Pima Center. They certainly had many options to choose from.”
White Castle has been around since 1921 when it opened its first location in Wichita, Kansas.
At this time, the closest White Castle restaurant to Arizona is located in the Las Vegas Strip.
The hamburger chain owns and operates nearly 400 restaurants in 13 states.
