PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) – Police are investigating a triple shooting at a home in a neighborhood near 59th Avenue and Thomas Road in west Phoenix.
During an afternoon update on Tuesday, Phoenix police said officers responded to the home around 10 a.m. and found two women and a man who had been shot inside the home. A man and woman died from their injuries, and the second woman was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
The Phoenix Police Department on Wednesday identified the victims as 57-year-old Maria Guadalupe Gonzalez and 59-year-old Chris Child. The injured person is a 75-year-old woman.
"First and foremost our thoughts are with the family because they suffer the greatest loss," said Sgt. Vincent Cole. "First responders routinely go to these types of calls and anytime we have somebody that loses a life, it's not something easy to deal with, but first and foremost our thoughts are with the families."
Police said all three lived at the home, and that a weapon was found during the investigation. A family friend reportedly found the three shot and called police. A police spokesperson said officers are not looking for any suspects.
