OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. -- A Florida woman claims her daughter tried to report her father's abusive behavior for years, but no one believed her. So, the 14-year-old installed security cameras inside her home to prove it.

The footage led to her father's arrest, WEAR-TV reported.

The Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office arrested Damon Becnel, 47, on Jan. 2 after deputies obtained two videos from the victim.

In one video, you can see a man -- identified as Becnel -- scream, point and even headbutt a teen girl. He then starts to yell at her dogs before hitting one of the animals and holding an object to its neck.

At one point, the teen jumps on top of Becnel, yelling for him to stop.

"I'm going to kill the dog," he's heard saying in the video as the teen pleads, "Stop, please stop."

He then shoves the girl against the wall and headbutts her. The video goes on for about six minutes.

Becnel was charged with child cruelty and cruelty to animals. He is now out on bond but will go before a judge on Feb. 4.

The mom, who does not have custody of the teen, says the teen and her dogs are living with Becnel's friend. She said the Department of Child Services' safety plan allowed Becnel to determine who would have custody of the teen when he was arrested.

The mom told WEAR-TV she is fighting to change this.
