PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) - Three men went to the hospital after witnesses said someone opened fire into a car in Phoenix, police say. It happened near 40th Street and Thomas Road around 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Phoenix police say several callers reported hearing more than 20 shots being fired into a vehicle parked behind a business. When officers got there, they found evidence of a shooting, but there were no victims at the scene. A few minutes later, police got calls reporting that three adult males had been dropped off at a nearby hospital.
The injuries to all three males are not considered life-threatening. Police say the three men are not providing much information to officers at this time.
No information has been provided yet regarding what led up to the shooting or if police are looking for any suspects. The investigation is in the early stages and is ongoing.
