TEMPE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – A Tempe mother is looking for answers after her teenage son was gunned down in Mesa. Mesa police haven't arrested anyone and now the mother is telling everyone about him and what happened in hopes of finding the killer. "A shock, definitely a shock," said Lori Losee, Kelly Roach Jr.'s mother.

Mesa police found Roach Jr. with gunshot wounds just after midnight on May 17 at an apartment complex.

Losee remembers saying goodbye to her son on May 16. "And he said, 'I'll be back,'" said Losee. But Roach Jr. never came home. "I just didn't expect this at all," said Losee.

After calls for a shooting, Mesa police found Roach Jr. with gunshot wounds just after midnight on May 17 at an apartment complex on Brown and Country Club roads. He was transported to a hospital, where he died.

"It broke our hearts. It really broke our hearts," said Losee. "He was a good kid. He didn't deserve this, and we didn't deserve this. Nobody deserves this."
