It's a restaurant that all began with "Nana's dream" back in 1972, when the Vasquez family opened its first restaurant in the Valley. Now, the family is proud to operate several locations of "Someburros."
Someburros is now unveiling a new look and some new branding (new logo, website, menus, etc.) And the restaurant is celebrating the changes by thanking its customers with some free food.
Each day this week, the first 50 customers at the door will get a coupon for a free burrito, redeemable during the next visit.
Someburros has five Valley locations in Tempe, Gilbert, Chandler and Scottsdale.
A few members of the Vasquez family joined us Tuesday morning to talk about what makes Someburros food so special.
The restaurant owners pride themselves on slow-cooked meats, delicate sauces, fresh chili peppers, seasonal vegetables and homemade salsas wrapped in warm handmade tortillas.
"There is a secret to it," says Tim Vasquez of Someburros."The ingredients are the most important. The red chili and the green chili. And then there's a secret to rolling it so it doesn't leak out all over your arm when you take that first bite.
