During this time of giving, the Phoenix Zoo took a moment to show appreciation to the animals. On the day before Thanksgiving, the Zoo hosted "Feast for the Beasts," a dinner made for squirrel monkeys.
The meal began at 9:30 a.m. The squirrel monkeys ate food within their normal diet, but it was presented in a special way for the holiday. The spread consisted of chopped greens, sunflower seeds, bananas, papaya, and a winter squash pie. Visitors watched the squirrel monkeys enjoy their feast from the Zoo's Monkey Village.
