YCSO

YCSO says there is no evidence of foul play play and that it appears the pair succumbed to weather-related conditions.

ASH FORK, AZ (3TV/CBS5) -- An elderly man and woman found dead in the snow in Ash Fork Friday have been identified.

The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) has identified the couple as 74-year-old Richard Alexander and his wife, 79-year-old Elizabeth Alexander. Both are from the Juniper Woods Community in Ash Fork. It appears the couple died from exposure, YCSO says.

The bodies were discovered just outside a private property gate on land along Old Route 66.

YCSO says there is no evidence of foul play play and that it appears the pair succumbed to weather-related conditions.

The time of death has not been established. It's possible that snow kept their bodies from view for a period of time, says YCSO. The medical examiner will determine the exact cause of death.

Ash Fork is west of Flagstaff in Northern Arizona.
