SCOTTSDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- The Scottsdale Police Department has confirmed the identity of the man found in a canal in Old Town on Monday.
Police said the body of a white man, later identified as 23-year-old Robert Anthony Cuillo, was found in a canal located at Camelback and Scottsdale roads around 9:30 a.m.
Friends and family told Arizona's Family it could be the body of, who was last seen alive around 1 a.m. on Saturday. They say he lives in the area and would frequently walk to bars, shops and restaurants.
Ryan Milosevich remembers Cuillo stopping by his Glass Monkey Smoke Shop late Friday night. "Just seemed like a normal dude, having a good time with friends and joking around," said Milosevich. "Nothing unusual going on."
When Cuillo never came home, friends flooded social media trying to find him. The search came to a sudden stop Monday morning when police and fire crews arrived to pull the body out of the canal, not far from where Cuillo was last seen.
