PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) − Rain fell periodically Thursday and is expected to conintue in the Phoenix area Friday morning. 

Some showers popped up for Valley drivers during the Thursday morning commute.

Rain is expected to come in three waves, it started Thursday morning and is expected to end Friday morning.

Expect anywhere from a tenth of an inch of rain to about a quarter of an inch.

This winter storm will also bring cooler temperatures to the Phoenix area with a high of about 61 on Thursday and 66 on Friday.

In terms of snow, a trace to two inches is possible for the highest elevations, with snow levels hovering between 6500 and 7500 feet.
