Surprise bank robber

SURPRISE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – The Surprise Police Department hopes the public can help them find the man who robbed a Bank of America Friday afternoon. It happened at about 3 p.m. at the location on Bell Road at Grand Avenue.

Few details were immediately available, but police released photos and a description of the suspect. He’s a man with a dark complexion in his late 30s or late 40s. He’s about 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, black shoes and a black Matco Tool ball cap. He also has a full beard that’s “neatly groomed,” as well as a tattoo in a circular shape on his left hand, police said.

Police said he arrived in a light blue van, perhaps a Toyota Sienna from the early 2000s. It has gray molding along the bottom and damage near the fender on the front passenger side.

Police did not say if the man had a weapon or how much money he got away with.
