Drug bust near Kingman

Law enforcement agencies seized more than $12 million in cocaine and meth during a traffic stop on I-40 near Kingman. 

KINGMAN, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- Law enforcement agencies in northern Arizona seized millions of dollars worth of drugs during a traffic stop near Kingman. According to the Bullhead City Police Department on Thursday, around 6:30 p.m., detectives with the Bullhead City Mohave Area General Narcotics Enforcement Team (M.A.G.N.E.T) pulled over a tractor-trailer on I-40, just west of Kingman.

Detectives called for K-9 assistance from the Department of Public Safety and Mohave County Sheriff's Office. With the help from K9 Lorka from DPS and K9 Chase from MCSO, detectives found 370 pounds of cocaine and 220 pounds of meth in the tractor-trailer. Combined, both have a street value of about $12.7 million, police say.

Police arrested 30-year-old Beyan Beyan and 36-year-old Samatar Ahmed for transportation of dangerous drugs and drugs for sale. Both have been booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.
