Wrong-way collision

Police say a wrong-way driver was behind a head-on collision on Galvin Parkway near McDowell Road Sunday night.

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS5) - A woman was injured after police say a wrong-way driver caused a head-on collision Sunday night. Officers were called around 8:15 p.m. after a silver sedan heading north in the southbound lanes of Galvin Parkway collided with a black Chevy Suburban SUV near McDowell Road.

A passenger in the Chevy Suburban told Arizona's Family that there were 5 people inside and they were headed to the airport when the accident occurred. Phoenix fire says one woman passenger from the Chevy was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Officers on scene are investigating the driver of the silver sedan for possible impairment.
