MCSO deputy pulls man from Sun City lake

SUN CITY, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) -- A Maricopa County Sheriff's Deputy sprang into action to save a man who was found floating in a lake in Sun City early Tuesday morning.

According to MCSO, a deputy responded to a call for help after someone called saying they heard splashing in Viewpoint Lake near 103rd Avenue and Thunderbird Boulevard and someone yelling "help me" around 2 a.m. The deputy arrived and jumped into the lake, and pulled the man out. Other responding deputies performed CPR until paramedics arrived.

The man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was admitted into the ICU in critical condition. MCSO says they do not know how or why the man got into the lake and that district detectives are investigating.
