PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) − Polls all across Maricopa County and Arizona opened at 6 a.m. on Tuesday. Votes have been pouring in, but some polling sites have been experiencing some issues.

Maricopa County's top election official says the Election Day turnout at polling sites in metro Phoenix is almost on par with a presidential election.

County Recorder says about 277,751 ballots were cast at polling places, as of Tuesday night.

Fontes says lines at some locations left people waiting for a voting booth but not to check in.

Fontes says there have been some hiccups at a few of the some 500 voting sites.

The hiccups included technical glitches at one in Mesa and a foreclosure that locked up one in Chandler.

According to Fontes, they had three polling places down at one point.

Polling places opened in Arizona at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m.

Fontes says they were having a building access issue at their Gila Precinct in Chandler. The building was foreclosed overnight.

Fontes says the building was up and running at 7 a.m.

Two other polling places include Sunland Village in Mesa and St. Nikolas Serbian Church in Phoenix.

Fontes says both of those were experience technical problems. St. Nikolas Serbian Church was up and running by 7:15 a.m.

Voters experienced long lines at a polling place near 32nd Street and Union Hills Drive.

Several viewers have expressed their displeasure at long lines and issues at several other locations but Fontes could not confirm all of the problems.

Locations with viewers reporting issues:

- Queen Creek Library: 21802 S. Ellsworth Road

- North Valley Baptist Church: 2109 E. Rose Garden Lane

- Ahwatukee Recreation Center: 5001 E. Cheyenne Drive

- Shiloh Community Church: 19021 N. 32nd Street

- Trevor G. Brown High School: 7402 W. Catalina Drive

- Deer Valley Airport: 702 W. Deer Valley Road

- Dove of the Desert: 7201 W. Beardsley Road

This isn't the first time voters have had issues in Maricopa County this year. Many experienced problems while attempting to vote during the 2018 Primary Elections. Fontes has affirmed that those issues have been corrected.

Polls will be open until 7 p.m. today.
