PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. -- A man has been arrested in the shooting death of a Prescott Valley teen.Richard Quiroz, 23, is accused of murdering 17-year-old Gabriel Calderon, who died at a Phoenix hospital earlier this month after being shot multiple times.Investigators learned Quiroz had left Prescott Valley with a family member but was planning to return.Prescott Valley police detectives obtained an arrest warrant Thursday, and the Arizona WANTED Violent Offender Task Force, led by the U.S. Marshals Service, assembled a 16-member team with a plan to intercept Quiroz's vehicle in the area of Congress, Ariz.Quiroz allegedly rammed and moderately damaged a task force member's vehicle to avoid arrest but was stopped a short time later. The officer was not injured.Quiroz and his passenger, 22-year-old Christopher Quiroz, were eventually called out of the vehicle and taken into custody without further incident.Richard Quiroz was booked into Yavapai County Jail on charges of first-degree murder and tampering with a witness. He is being held on $1 million bond, according to police.Police said he could face additional felony charges for allegedly ramming the law enforcement vehicle.Christopher Quiroz was booked on unrelated felony drug charges.The Arizona Department of Public Safety and Partners Against Narcotics Trafficking helped locate and identify Richard Quiroz as the suspect.
